Clare Island holds a specific place in my heart, so it’s always a great joy for me to cover a wedding on the island. There is so much to say about Clare Island, and if you have decided to get married on the island, you won’t be disappointed!
A SPECIAL PLACE TO MY HEART
I took my very first trip to the island back in 2013 as I decided to go abroad for « a few weeks ». I spent an amazing summer, working and enjoying the island life ! I had one of the most wonderful time of my life! Few years passed on and long story (very) short, I married a Clare Island man back in 2024. We share our life between the island and the mainland with our little girl Rose.
WHERE LAND, SEA AND SKY ARE IN CONVERSATION
I love the diversity of the place, from idyllic beaches, to little piers, the famous “big hill”, the scenic cliffs and of course all the Grace O’Malley heritage on the island. As well, the weather always makes it so special, the scenery changes as the day goes by, the light, the clouds, their shadows on the sea, it is truly amazing. It never looks the same, and for a photographer, that is no complaint !
