Here is a glimpse into Barbara & Conor’s wedding day. They travelled from Switzerland to gather their families from Germany and Ireland, on Clare Island, at Bay View House. It was a beautiful sunny day of April in 2025.

Ceremony
They decided to hold their wedding ceremony at the venue itself, surrounded by their closest loved ones, creating a deeply intimate and personalised celebration. The ceremony was led by Tricia, who had been practising German so everyone could be fully involved in the moment.
One of the key highlights for B&C — as they shared during previous conversations — was a ritual called the Celtic Circle.

A ceremony shaped by those they love
Loved ones played an active role throughout Barbara & Conor’s ceremony, making it deeply personal and meaningful. Speeches were shared in each family’s language, children took part in several rituals, and Connor’s father played the accordion — moments filled with emotion and connection. From a photography perspective, these were key elements of the ceremony: honest and unscripted interactions.
Words carried by the wind and the sea
Then, came the couple's speeches, one of the most powerful I’ve witnessed - even though I don’t understand German. The setting made it unforgettable: complete silence, not a word spoken beyond theirs, just the breeze, the sound of the sea, and two people sharing something deeply personal.
